Information Technologies and Communications Authority personnel gathered for the holiday greeting ceremony.
Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, Board Members, Institution Vice Presidents, and BTK personnel attended the holiday greeting program at the Information Technologies and Communications Authority Central Campus.
Expressing his pleasure at meeting with the employees for the holiday celebration, President Sayan stated, “As you know, with the innovations and efforts we carry out as an Institution, we are working to shorten the distances between our citizens and their loved ones. With the contributions of our Ministry, we are making more progress every day in our efforts. Our country is increasingly drawing from expanding current technologies and informatics innovations. We are the pioneers of breakthroughs in this area and will continue to be. In this regard, 5G is coming with features that promise to change the perspectives of both communication and other sectors.”
Stating that they are advancing confidently toward the 2023 targets, President Sayan said, “As you know, at the beginning of Ramadan, we held the signing ceremony for the 5G and Beyond Joint Graduate Support Program at our Institution. Two weeks ago, we were at the 5G Next-Generation Communication Technologies Signing Ceremony hosted by TÜBİTAK. With these signatures, we have taken another major step in 5G. On the path to a Strong Turkey, guided by our compass—primarily our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and our Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım—and under the guidance of our Minister, we are moving forward. If we come together like family members gathering in one home during the holiday, we will produce fruitful work.”
“With DEDI, Everyone is Safe”
President Sayan also spoke about the “DEDİ” application developed by the Information Technologies and Communications Authority. Expressing that all citizens will feel safe with this application, Sayan said, “We place special emphasis on the localization and nationalization of widely used communication and social media applications. The concept of local and national should not be understood as producing the product or software entirely from scratch by us, but rather as having full control over the product without any restrictions and ensuring that the privacy of the data—belonging to our people in these environments—is kept solely within our country’s borders. Just as we look at the respect for privacy and service quality of a moving company or courier’s vehicle brand when moving houses or delivering gifts to loved ones, we should show the same sensitivity in the applications we install on our mobile phones. Under the guidance of our Information Systems Department, with the understanding that ‘Turkey’s data stays in Turkey,’ they have largely completed the work on the DEDI instant messaging application and opened it for testing.” He shared this information.
The DEDI messaging application ensures that your conversations remain exclusively private. It also provides very fast technical support for any issues encountered. The DEDI application, strengthened with the most sensitive encryption technologies, will continue to be used with new applications and versions to be developed.
