The President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK), Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, was a guest on NTV on April 1. On the first day of the 4.5G transition, Sayan, providing information on the topic, stated that the transition to 4.5G could be made without additional fees.
Sayan stated that if consumers use 4.5G consciously, their bills will not be burdensome. Sayan said: "My advice to consumers is that on all smartphones, on 4.5G compatible phones, there is a traffic indicator related to cellular data, a counter showing how much data you have used. They should reset these counters from today. They should measure their average consumption amount within 1 month according to the counter and then act according to this counter to avoid surprise bills and set their tariffs accordingly."
Sayan explained that packages related to 4.5G will be offered for sale at affordable prices by mobile phone operators and advised citizens to try 4.5G first and then decide whether to stay with 4.5G.
