Hosted by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) and led by OSTİM, the “Electronic Communications Sector Clustering Meeting” was held.
In the meeting attended by operators, NGOs, SMEs, and local manufacturers; sessions were organized on topics such as Operators' Product Procurement Processes from SMEs and Local Companies, SMEs and Local Manufacturers, Local Production and R&D Supports, and Processes Regarding the Issuance of Local Goods Certificates.
Sinerjitürk Foundation Board Chairman Abdullah Raşit Gülhan, who presented the launch of the Electronic Communications Sector Clustering, said: “Turkey must surpass its current level in productivity. Turkey will develop with us; if we do not fly together, we cannot achieve success. To reach the Anka Bird on Mount Kaf, we must fly with our own wings.”
In the session titled “Mobile Operators' Product Procurement Processes from SMEs and Local Companies,” moderated by BTK Board Member Musa Şahin and attended by Avea Deputy General Manager Yalçın Aydın, Turkcell Deputy General Manager Mr. Gediz Sezgin, and Vodafone Executive Board Vice President Hasan Süel, the operators' efforts under the local goods obligation were discussed.
A session titled “SMEs and Local Manufacturers” was also held at the meeting. The session, moderated by BTK Authorization Department Head Beytullah Kuşçu, featured speakers including NETMON AŞ. General Manager Ahmet Kurt, ENGİTEK Ltd. General Manager Mehmet Çiydem, ARGELA AŞ. Business Development Manager Aziz Sever, ALTERNİDEA Ltd. General Manager Yaşar Yılmaz, ERAT TELEKOM General Manager Fatih Erkan, and RST Ltd. General Manager Uğur Oğuz.
Additionally, a session on “Local Production and R&D Supports” was organized at the meeting. The session, moderated by BTK Deputy Institution President Gazali Çiçek, included speakers such as Expert Haşim Cihan Demirköprülü from the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, General Directorate of Industrial Zones; SME and Clustering Department Head Mustafa Ali Yurdupak from the Ministry of Economy; Expert Kamil Öncü Şen from TÜBİTAK; KOSGEB Project Manager Ayşe Yeşim Çepni; and Information Technologies Group Manager Ahmet Bahadır Bülbül from the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries.
Finally, presentations were made on the topic of “Processes Regarding the Regulation of Local Goods Certificates (Software, Hardware).” The presentation on the process for issuing local goods certificates was delivered by TOBB Department Head Fatih Soysal, while TSE Department Head Mustafa Yılmaz presented on “ISO Certificates and Matters Related to Source Codes.”
At the end of the sessions, participants' questions were answered, and at the conclusion of the meeting, plaques were presented to all participants in appreciation of their participation and contributions.
