The Workshop on Current Regulations in Broadband Services was held at the BTK Central Building.
Within the scope of the Sectoral Competition Department studies, the workshop held on October 3, 2017 was attended by Müberra Oğuz, Head of the Sectoral Competition Department, Serhat Erkoç, Head of the Access and Tariffs Department, Philippe Defraigne, Director of Cullen International Company, and BTK experts.
At the Workshop on Current Regulations in Broadband Services, Philippe Defraigne, Director of Cullen International—an independent regulatory research company operating in telecommunications, media, digital economy, postal regulations, and competition law across Europe, America, the Middle East, and North Africa—also delivered a speech.
In the workshop, presentations were made on topics such as the required features of wholesale broadband products, particularly Layer-2 and Layer-3 level products that could fall within the scope of relevant markets, and economic replicability tests as an alternative to cost-based obligations. It is considered that the workshop, aimed at transferring EU practices to our country's markets within the framework of our country's market conditions and adopting regulations parallel to those practices, represents significant gains.
