Following the 4.5G tender, the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) accelerated its work on 5G.
A meeting titled “Next Generation Mobile Communication Technologies (5G)” was held under the chairmanship of BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, with the participation of TURKCELL and ASELSAN officials.
In the meeting, TURKCELL and ASELSAN officials presented activities, plans, and targets related to 5G being conducted in our country and internationally.
In his speech at the meeting, BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan stated: “We successfully completed the IMT-Advanced tender on August 26. We are providing the operators who won this tender with the opportunity to use the newest technologies. In line with the vision outlined by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we aim to be one of the first countries to transition to 5G. I have instructed the establishment of a working group at BTK to monitor the work on 5G. We have signed a protocol with Japan on behalf of our country regarding cooperation on 5G. I would like to express that we are ready to provide all kinds of support on national and international platforms to bring new technologies to our country, and we expect the same support from producers and operators.”
