Three products from the End-to-End Domestic and National 5G Communication Network Project were introduced to the public.
Thanks to visionary managers and companies capable of taking initiatives in both the private and public sectors in Turkey, important steps were taken in 2017 to join the league of countries like the USA, China, South Korea, and Japan that can produce future 5G communication technologies and achieve the status of a "producer and developer country." Under the leadership of OSTİM, 16 companies under the Communication Technologies Cluster (HTK), established with more than 130 companies, launched an unprecedented development project with the support of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) and TÜBİTAK: End-to-End Domestic and National 5G Communication Network (UUYM5G).
Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, who attended the launch event, stated that efforts to develop domestic and national 5G technologies within the framework of the National Technology Move continue, expressed great satisfaction that the first of the 5G core network products was launched in collaboration with the stakeholders of the Communication Technologies Cluster, and noted that we are advancing confidently on the path to 5G and beyond. Sayan emphasized the importance of developing these technologies for our country and announced that they stand by our producers who want to contribute to this path and will continue to support them.
Gazali Çiçek, Deputy President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, emphasized the importance of the End-to-End Domestic and National 5G Network Project, developed by BTK, HTK, and operators, for the future of our country, and the significance of the collaboration among stakeholders dedicated to developing these technologies in our country. He stated that the core network demo developed by HTK under the project is a very important and historic step on this path.
