Providing information that their work on 5G is one of the steps taken in domestic and national production, Karagözoğlu said the following:
"5G is a technology platform developed based on the concept of connecting people, objects, transportation, health, homes, cities—everything—with high speed and capacity everywhere, with minimal interruption and delay. The 'beyond' part of the 5G and beyond concept has two different meanings for us. While developing domestic and national 5G, we are preparing fertile ground for next-generation technologies that will follow 5G, and we are providing the necessary contributions to vertical sectors that will benefit from 5G. There are some accepted facts about 5G that the whole world now embraces. One of them is that it will change business models. In 5G, the primary source for operators will not be end-users but sectors such as energy, health, and automotive that are served. In recent years, we see all major automotive companies advertising autonomous driving. These autonomous driving technologies require data to be transmitted at speeds we can call instantaneous."

Karagözoğlu gave the example: "One of the attacks we prevented is the 'WannaCry' attack. Dozens of malware developed by the U.S. National Security Agency were served to the internet by a hacker group. USOM shared the measures to be taken against the vulnerabilities in this malware, and the vulnerabilities in the systems were closed. Turkey was one of the countries least affected by this attack."
Emphasizing that USOM conducts its 7-24 operations with software it produces using its own resources to counter attacks, Karagözoğlu stated that providing cyber security with domestic and national resources is one of the most sensitive points.
Karagözoğlu added that the number of users of the safe internet service provided free of charge by BTK has also exceeded 6.5 million.
